Potential Protests
Loud chants of sullivan out on Sky would be a start. banners stating board out etc.
Sky love the drama and will cover it. We have two games coming up where we need to make a point and keep it going.

Re: Potential Protests
There are far too many lapdogs who are of the opinion the owners SAVED US, so I can see any major protests happening. Most of us ungappy with the move have jacked it, being replaced by neutrals.

Unfourtanetly there wouldnt be 50,000 odd getting involved in this. Theres still an embarrasing high number of people supporting the board and wont have anything said against anything remotely West ham...if it wernet for them we would be no more...apparently!!!

I don't really think there's any doubt that the owners DID save us (other option on the back of a postage stamp, please), but we've been "saved" an awful long time, and now is the time to stop being "saved" and start to move on.

I think the current board actually have no concept of "moving on", or real desire to - it seems they get what they see as "an adequate return" on their investment.

If being a Yo-Yo club is the most cost-efficient way of the club delivering the return they desire, then a Yo-Yo club we will be - but, hey! We get a "Next Level" every two years! How the fuck could anyone not want that???

What exactly did they save us from? The closest we were to financial oblivion was after we got relegated.

By them.

After the Icelandics crashed out of being "monied", we were running very close to not being able to meet some very significant financial obligations - a long time ago now and well before Facebook told everybody the truth, but West Ham not existing was a very real possibility (despite the claim that as it didn't happen it obviously never could have happened).

The club was struggling to meet all it's day-to-day running costs.

Re: Potential Protests
They "saved us" by being the people that bought the club while in financial trouble. What people fail to remember is there were other investors circling. Some good, some bad.

Re: Potential Protests
For a club that was supposedly so close to non existence I would say it was highly surprising that anybody would have touched it with a barge pole back then?

If I recall rightly didn't we have Tony Fernandes, Massimo Cellino as well as others in for us as well. Surely if the financial situation was as bad as we've so often been told then all the other potential suitors would have shied off?

I remember Birmingham fans warning us of exactly this when they took over the club.

Re: Potential Protests
They will not take us any further so time to sell up and time for a new manager as the current one has lost the plot and the squad.

Re: Potential Protests
They're not going anywhere quickly that's for sure.

Firstly someone needs to be serious about buying us, and that someone needs to have at least another zero on the end of the the Sullivan / Gold wealth otherwise what's the point?

Secondly I believe if the current owners sell up before something like 2021 they have to share the profit with the government - which they won't do because, well why would you?

I don't know how many super rich Qatari's are out there waiting to buy us but how much money can be ploughed into the club from any potential owners? My understanding is not much, even under the current arrangements in which the club is loaned the money it's still only allowed to make a certain amount of losses etc.

What would be great is a professional director of football to be running the club setting vision and direction to spend our money wisely instead of throwing good money after bad. This lot won't do that though so we're stuck for the foreseeable.

Re: Potential Protests
so who's stepping up to the plate to organise it then ?. Talking from personal experience i'll give you a little insight into what you can expect.

Get ready for plenty of abuse from your own fans as you find out not everyone thinks the same as you.

get ready for giving up plenty of your time and money as you have to get leaflets printed etc and have meetings with likeminded people about what you're going to do on match days.

And get ready for the club to make your life hell as they have you watched by private detectives and in some cases even try to sue you for any comments that they believe are not true.

So its over to you lot, could i suggest maybe brentford would be a great organiser as he certainly seems to be the one most affected by whats going on at the moment.

Re: Potential Protests
I think half don't know weather to protest about the manager or owners! Is it worth a protest that we didn't get a CB or creative midfielder?

Advice from that pissed up Hugh

“Don’t worry about what you can’t change – only the things you can!”

Let’s just get on with playing our role which is to do nothing more than support our club. It’s why we’re here.
